Singapore – Must visit food haven to pamper with variety of cuisines

Singapore is one of the top attractive destinations for tourists around the World. It has more than twenty incredible places to visit and enjoy with family and friends. Marina Bay Sands, Clarke Quay, Singapore Zoo, Sentosa, Orchard Road, Singapore Flyer and National Museum are some of the best tourist attractions which draw people to travel thousands of miles to Singapore to enjoy their vacation. Singapore is also known for its shopping outlets and World class branded stores to indulge in shopping. It offers wide range of choices from International brands to popular Asian products. It has shopping malls near every metro station and exclusive shopping street named Orchard Road. The phrase ‘shop till you drop’ suits well for this country. In Singapore, tourists can easily find classic hotels for affordable stay, restaurants with variety of cuisines, enlightening services, facilities and experiences amazing hospitality.

Apart from ethnic Malay, Chinese and Indians, people from all over the World lives here as expatriates. This gives Singapore diverse cultural exposure, racial harmony, and massive economic developments. The World class Airport, well structured housing, drainage system, transportation, preservation of natural resources, and Business hubs are live example of thoughtful planning, execution and good governance of this developed nation.

There is another yummy fun fact about this cosmopolitan country, it’s unknown to many, Singapore is a food haven with huge variety of cuisines to choose from.  As there are people around the globe living here, naturally it has become a hub of World cuisines. It is very tempting to see the food courts from different countries stacked the foods to attract the customers; it looks really appealing to try the foods. “Takeaway” is very popular among Singaporeans; they just get into the food stall and pick their favourites to get them packed. Those selected foods instantly prepared, served hot, packed well and taken away to their choice of place, office or home to enjoy the food. Anytime, whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner, one can find and pick their favourite cuisines. It’s like ‘Takeaway’ is right away.

I was in Singapore with my family for a year; we thoroughly enjoyed our stay everyday. Those moments stored in our everlasting memory, and it keeps driving us to plan for another trip. Eating out was our most cherishing experience, we tried wide range of foods from different countries. Pratas and Rojak always stands out in our choice, we never missed these foods whenever we go to hotels. We tasted variety of pratas in Singapore, chicken and cheese pratas are our favourites. Rojak comes next, it’s a blend of vegetables, fish, prawns and sauces. I would say, it’s a mixture of choice, healthy food one must try in Singapore. From the first day we tasted Pratas and Rojak, it becomes our favourite Singaporean food ever.

Wherever we go in Singapore, we can find restaurants, food courts serving diverse cuisines from different countries. Food is always a delighting factor for humankind, if it served with impressive hospitality, nothing can beat the joy and satisfaction it brings. Singapore is the best, must visit place in lifetime to enjoy this experience.

These places sound and look great in theory for me....but I don't think I"d survive there for 2 seconds. Being a picky eater with many food allergies, I would probably end up eating nothing but rice.

A LONG time ago, when I was young and foolish, I met a girl from Singapore. I asked her, "Is it warm there?"

She said, "It's right on the equator!!"

I felt young and foolish. They did not have google back then.
